The following is an excerpt from my book 'Impressions of an Archangel'. It is written in the form of a dialogue between me, the channel and writer and the powers of spirit in a form known to me as Archangel Michael. I am a spiritual healer from Ireland, living in the South of France.

"Today you are thinking of evolution and where the development of the world and mankind fits into the evolution and development of consciousness and the progress of the soul in its earthly incarnations. You would like me to guide your writing on this topic today.
You are reflecting on pictures of earliest man that you have seen and also pictures of creatures crawling from the primordial swamp. You cannot really understand how such basic beginnings could be part of any divine plan or evolution. Firstly let me remind you that what you are reflecting on represents the beginning of physical matter and life. You need to remember that consciousness preceded all of these expressions of matter. Scientists explain the origins of life with the big bang theory. Like many scientific conclusions, there is no reflection on what was behind the big bang other than chemical or cosmic forces.
You are beginning to reflect now on the wonder of the force that created any and all forms of life no matter how basic. You are thinking of what lies behind chemical and cosmic forces and what lies behind the inclination of molecular forces to create and recreate themselves. This inclination is what you know as love and in its cosmic expression, this love is what you know as God. The simple fact is that consciousness preceded matter and that consciousness has
increasingly expressed itself through matter and mankind. You are thinking of the fall parable from the Bible and you are understanding that what it represents is a schism in consciousness where some souls erred. The energy that initiated this process is known as Lucifer in Christian mythology.
Now you are seeing that the development of physical life from its first stirrings to its magnificent achievements to its increasing reflections on Divine consciousness represents a great journey and this great journey is the return to the full awareness of God and Divine consciousness. You are reflecting on the enormity of this process and you are beginning to see what true consciousness really means. You are reflecting on the fact that this process is taking billions of years and you are beginning to get a sense of the enormity of what you know as the fall.
You are reflecting on your own journey and the fact that at some stage you saw or rather felt what you call "it". Yes, there was a day when you felt divine love in your heart and felt it vibrating through every living thing that surrounded you. You are thinking now of your beloved Cathars in 13th Century France and you understand why they believed that Lucifer created the world. Your viewpoint is that Lucifer caused the problem but it was in fact the Divine love of God as represented by angelic forces including myself that generated the beginnings of physical existence. In other words, God created the world so that the fallen souls led by Lucifer might eventually reclaim full consciousness. You see now, the process quite clearly. You see the enormity of time and the gradual shift towards a more evolved consciousness.
You see the tremendous efforts and achievements of mankind in producing comfort and progress in the physical realm and you see the corresponding decline of interest in the spirit. You see that there have always been those like yourself who have reflected on the spirit and you are aware that there is a growing movement of this nature. You are reflecting on where matters are leading in relation to the affluence and materialism of the western world and as a metaphor, you are shown a bright speeding sports car suddenly running out of petrol. Yes, I say to you, as you observe the occupants of the sports car becoming reflective in the great silence of the countryside, this is where matters are going. The journey of the western world is one of speed to silence and reflection. I wish you a most beautiful day"
