As those of you who know me will know, these days, I live very much letting the Universe “take care of my path”. Whilst recovering from my recent brain operation I have had to cope with an enforced convalescence and my driving licence revoked for 6 months. This has given me much time to reflect and take stock of who I am. It is my belief that traumatic times are affecting us all these days and it’s not what happens to us but how we deal with it. “The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man be perfected without trials.” - Danish Proverb
I have had to let myself be steered in the direction the Universe feels is for my ultimate best, even though my natural personality is normally to force what I think is best. I have learnt that our “gut instinct” and natural synchronicity will lead us onto the best path. In the past when I have forced things to work because I WANT them to, they have often failed, and I have been left with feeling of hurt and bewilderment and wondering where it all went wrong! When I finally learnt to let go and go with the flow and allow my instinct to be my guide, things started happening absolutely perfectly for me. The key for me has been to go with my gut instinct and allow synchronicity to play its part.
A recent reinforcement of this theory came when I had to travel back to the hospital, which dealt with my op, to have an MRI scan. The hospital is an hour away from us and the appointment was on a Sunday. I was not looking forward to the whole thing, not that it is in any way painful, but it is uncomfortable, very noisy and I was feeling very vulnerable after having been through everything. We decided the best way to deal with it was to go a couple of hours early and maybe have a look round the shopping centre near the hospital and then spend the last hour in the coffee shop at the hospital, just to make sure we were on time. The traffic was unusually quiet and we arrived in the town in record time. The shopping trip really was very de-stressing and just what I needed. An hour before my appointment we arrived at the hospital.
As we walked through the door, my husband heading to the coffee shop, I had a strong instinct to go and check out the MRI department and tell them I was here, he agreed reluctantly. We walked into the department and it seemed very quiet. I walked up to the receptionist and told her who I was and that we were an hour early. I asked her how things were going and would we be on time or would we have to wait very long for my appointment. She said she would check. When she came back she told me if I waited a couple of minutes they would do it next. What a great surprise! My husband went off to the coffee shop, with a good book, and I went off to the waiting room. Not only did I have no time to get stressed again but I was on my way home before I was even due for my appointment. I could share numerous stories like this with you. The reason I share this experience is it is such a lesson to us all.
Learn to really be in tune with your natural instinct and let synchronicity play it’s part. Live your life in tune with the universe and know that if things aren’t going the way you had planned it is probably for your ultimate best. Learn to ask for help and then give things time to work out for the absolute best. Learn how to distinguish between your head and your heart and ultimately go with what you instinctively [in your heart] know to be correct. We can only be looked after if we ask for it then allow it to be. As Abraham-Hicks says: let go of the oars and just go with the flow!
I wish you so many of life’s blessings and the instincts to have faith as you walk through your life, even in your darkest moments. Remember … as Nelson Mandela said: “It’s not how many times you get knocked down, It’s how well you pick yourself up that counts”, and he should know! ;
With much love, Terri x
