Reiki is a name given to a system of natural healing which is believed to have originated in ancient Tibet. It was re-discovered by a Japanese monk Dr Mikao Usui in the late 1800s. He developed this system of healing after many years of practice, study and meditation.
Reiki Treatments.
The recipient sits in a chair or lies on a treatment couch. This is a non-invasive therapy; there is no need to remove any clothing. Reiki energy is channelled through the practitioner to the recipient.
We all have chakras (energy centres) in the body. The practitioner places the hands on or over the chakras. This helps the body to relax and start its own healing process. Healing will go to the area where it is needed.
Full treatments last approximately an hour.
Reiki Teaching:
Reiki is taught on three or four levels.
Reiki 1. This is taught in a two day workshop, this is for healing yourself, friends and family.
We need to learn how to heal ourselves before we can confidently heal others
Reiki 2. Also taught in a two day workshop with follow up Reiki shares. You will be given three Reiki sacred symbols.
Reiki Masters. This is taught over a period of months, a decision to become a Reiki Master should not be taken lightly.
