The power of spirit in Wickford
“Is anyone there?” As soon as you hear these words you picture in your mind red light, a sequined dress medium and a victorian back room setting for a séance.
No, this is not Victorian England, this is a physical mediumship evening, the first of many held in the new ‘All of You’ centre in High Street, Wickford, in good old 2007!
I am a psychic medium and have been aware of spirit and my psychic abilities since I was a child having been born into generations of mediums. I have the ability to sense words, pictures, smells, visions, see, hear and communicate with souls who have passed over, who have died. On top of travelling the country as well and Europe demonstrating my gift, my passion is to embrace physical mediumship as well as help others to develop their abilities and to witness paranormal phenomena at its best.
Physical mediumship is about inviting the spirit person to do something physical i.e move something, talk, create sound, anything to alert us to them being in the atmosphere. I have blended with one of my guides where he spoke 15th Century Italian. I don’t not know how to speak Italian. The words have been translated and have made total sense. I have seen a torso of a woman fly towards me in luminous blue seen by others at the same time. I have seen globes of light the size of a space hopper and disappear through a wall, I have seen a table thrown across the room. That’s what I mean when I refer to ‘physical mediumship’.
So our evening began with a séance, some of the attendants sat around the circle whilst seven placed their hands onto the table, linking fingers, whilst I called out for a communicator from the spirit world. Within a second the table lurched over onto two legs. This usually is a positive sign of spirit presence as we had hardly placed our fingers onto the table.
I then sensed a well groomed lady who stated that her name was Martha. She used two bangs of the table to answer yes to questions and left the table silent for no. It seemed that she was attached to the history of the place and kept bringing a smell of TCP or a hospital type smell. She had big breathing difficulties prior to passing over and knew a man called David. Her hair was worn short and well set and went back to around the 1930’s. She seemed in her sixties when she passed and kept referring to other people who visited the place in spirit because of what it used to be.
The table then sped across the room and tipped over.
We all exclaimed our excitement and again tried to touch the table, as soon as we did it again sped across the room and spun around until it again tipped over. The energy then shifted in the room and a largely built man called David entered into the ether.
He appeared to have been a patient or had special needs as he wanted to express his intelligence and true strength whilst alive that went unnoticed.. He was very attracted to Vicky, another medium, as she had an autistic child and he embraced this as meaning a lot to him. Again we got the smell of hospitals and he made me feel that he had been in a mental health or asylum type premises for a number of years of which he wasn’t too happy about. He banged the table and walked it across the room with such strength that we could hardly keep hold of it.
I had never seen such energy steam through a table before. The air was electric.
This practice is called table tipping and allows spirit to create movement to the table.
The table then settled and many people reported seeing a purple mist manifesting above the table. This is a stage of spirit manifestation which is also known as an ectoplasmic mist. As this was happening people were experiencing massive temperature drops and then blasts of heat, again another common phenomena of spirit presence.
We were then entertained by fairy type lights that danced around people’s heads, along the walls and balls of light actually passing through the wall and disappearing.
The most exciting thing about this all was that ‘people’ were seeing these amazing incidents, it was not just down to one person’s imagination.
A young boy then came into the room, he was the spirit son of one of the people in attendance. He correctly gave the date that he passed, the name that he would have been given and the description that matched his father’s looks.
We also experienced flickering light bulbs and whispered spirit voices that many people heard at the same time.
We then carried out some automatic writing where spirit energies were invited to channel through our physical body and create the ability to write through their host.
Lots of people wrote in different handwriting with their eyes closed as well as changing hands to write the names of David, Martha and other recognised information that people present knew were from their spirit loved ones.
The finale of the evening was when we started the table tipping again. The table walked itself out of the room and pulled the people who were touching it into the rear room of the centre. It crashed against a wall where one of the attendees then went into trance and blended with Martha and David. Everybody stood transfixed as the man’s face transfigured into an older slim faced lady. He then shrivelled down to around five foot and had the mannerisms of frailness and little mobility.
In an instant, he then rose up and felt above 6 foot. His torso filled out and people gasped as they saw clearly a strong wide jawed spirit face clearly seen over the man’s face. I then tried to hold a conversation with David who had blended with our friend. The transfiguration was unbelievable, all could clearly see another man’s face appearing on his face.
We could hold no proper conversation with David but were convinced of his presence. We eventually called the evening to an end with excitement racing through everyone there.
It appears that communicators were plentiful near the Ladygate Centre. Throughout the evening, various eras were highlighted especially Roman times, Dickensian times as well as the Second World War. Many spirit people gave names and dates claiming they belonged to the area.
Wickford holds lots of promise as a place to highlight paranormal investigations.
